Patrick joined NEA in 2006 as General Partner focusing on information technology investments with particular emphasis on Software-as-a-Service, digital media, mobile technology and Internet companies. He sits on the boards of BedRocket Media, BuzzFeed, ChannelAdvisor (NYSE: ECOM), Millennial Media (NYSE: MM), Spring Wireless and Videology. Prior to joining NEA, Patrick was General Partner of Grotech Capital Group where he specialized in high-tech investments and served on a number of boards including Advertising.com (acquired by AOL/Time Warner), CDnow (NASDAQ: CDNW, acquired by Bertelsmann Group AG), Fieldglass Software (acquired by Madison Dearborn Partners), SALIX Technologies (acquired by Tellabs, NASDAQ: TLAB), and Synchrologic (acquired by Pumatech, NASDAQ: PUMA). Prior to Grotech, Patrick spent nearly 10 years at Alex. Brown & Sons as an investment banker for high technology companies. Prior to that, Patrick was a consultant with McKinsey & Co. and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy where he served on the staff of Admiral H.G. Rickover at the Headquarters of the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program. Patrick is Chairman Emeritus of the Mid-Atlantic Venture Association. He received a Masters in Business Administration, with Distinction, from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Villanova University.
