Kate joined NEA in 2007 and is currently Director of Communications and Marketing. In this role she leads the development and execution of NEA’s global communications strategy, including corporate marketing, public and media relations. She works closely with NEA's portfolio companies, providing both strategic counsel and tactical support on communications and marketing initiatives. She also plays an active role in NEA's limited partner relations and internal communications.
Prior to joining NEA, Kate was Public Relations Manager at MedImmune, a leading biotechnology company acquired by AstraZeneca PLC in 2006. In this role, she focused on corporate branding, digital media, and the company's oncology and immunology clinical research programs. She previously held a variety of communications and project management roles at The Kroger Co. and The E. W. Scripps Company, with particular emphasis on website development and online commerce. She began her career as a correspondent for The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Kate serves on the board of Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR), where she chairs the organization's pro bono committee. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English/Journalism at Miami University.
